With winter on its way, it’s time to start preparing your vehicle for winter driving. To raise awareness about the benefits of winter tyres, BMW and AIR Brussels created ‘The Moving Billboard.’
Winter weather can be unpredictable and make driving treacherous and stressful. Ice, snow, freezing rain and fog increase the risks on roads. This is where winter tires come into play.
In most EU countries, including Belgium, winter tyres for cars are not mandatory. However, experts recommend you switch your tyres from summer to winter. When the temperature drops below 7°C, even if there is no snow, summer tyres become less efficient and winter tyres are much better adapted to winter conditions as they have special rubber compounds designed to improve traction, handling and braking not only on snow, slush and ice but also on wet and frozen roads.🚘🌨🌧
To reveal the difference, BMW in partnership with agency Air Brussels have created ‘The Moving Billboard,’ a billboard that tells you about the advantages of winter tyres and demonstrates them.
The idea is as follows: a seemingly ordinary billboard was installed alongside a busy road in Brussels, so when drivers stop in front of a red light, the billboard suddenly starts moving backwards, showing the message on the screen: ‘In winter you would only have stopped here.’ This means that driving a car with winter tyres is less risky and the braking distance is shorter.

In fact, one of the busiest bus stops of the Budapest was transformed into a swimming-pool to make passengers get the impression as if they were in water.
To strengthen the feeling a large aquarium filled with real water together with VR glass panels were installed inside a bus stop. So passers-by were able to look into it and feel in a swimming pool. Moreover, one side of the bus stop had cutouts for faces so passers-by could even made photos!
I think it is a great example of thinking outside the box. When advertising and technology meet together, nothing is impossible! 😉
Brand 34, the first Georgian craft beer has made an unconventional gift to surprise their target audience.
Most Georgians strongly believe that everything that is made in Giorgia is cheap and crappy, especially when it comes to beer.
However, 34 is entering the market as a high quality beverage hoping to grab the experienced beer fanatics attention, people who love beer too much and can really appreciate it.
To persuade the audience to buy its product, that is not just another Giorgian product, the brand 34 with ad agency Leavingstone have created an outstanding campaign.
They launched 34 beer and started to sell it at a shocking price tag, 34 Laris a bottle (17 USD), that is 20 times as much as normal price.
This strange offer aroused people’s interest. Driven by curiosity they started buying it.
Within five days, 34 and Leavingstone tracked each purchase and got prepared for the grand finale of the event. They unveiled three personal statues of the first heroes to buy 34. They made them as a surprise to honor people who love beer very much.
These sculptures represent each beer lover with a large mug in the hand. The sculptures have become new local landmarks and have been put up in Tbilisi city center.
These men were amuzed to see themselves. This memorable surprise touched the heart of every beer lover in the country.
The underwater billboard has been set up in the United Arab Emirates to promote Nivea sunscreen.
Every year thousands of tourists visit the UAE to enjoy the perpetual sun, turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and beautiful white sand. This place is considered to be perfect for snorkeling as there are some world-class snorkeling destinations.
Snorkeling is one of the most popular great fun and relaxing water activity. It gives the opportunity to observe sea life in the natural habitat. What you need to do is to have a good snorkel and goggles that allow to stay underwater long hours watching exotic fish, reefs and corals.
But while you are snorkeling, your head and back are exposed to the sun for a long time. This exposure with the magnifying sun effect of the water is dangerous and can cause sun burn or even skin cancer. A sunscreen can protect you from getting burned while snorkeling.
All snorkelers remember to put on their fins and masks. But almost 70% of them forget to put enough sunscreen on the most exposed part of their body – their back.
To remind snorkelers to protect their back Nivea Sun with FCB Hamburg came up with an interesting idea. They developed a tailor-made and hand-crafted underwater Billboard using only materials from the sea itself such as stones, shells that are considered to be eco-friendly.
The billboard has been placed on the ocean floor so that snorkelers can notice it and see the message “Protect your back“. Once people have got the message it has become there as an artifical reef attracting fascinating sea life for future snorkelers to enjoy. Thanks to this reminder, snorkelers can spend more time in the sun and have the holiday of a lifetime.
